5 Tips on Keeping Summer Whites White
Summer and white clothing items are a match made in heaven! Right now, summer whites hold a high place on the biggest summer trends. Problem is, keeping whites white isn’t always the easiest thing to do, especially in the summer - when fun adventures are all most of us have in mind. To help you out with this summertime dilemma, we’re arming you with 5 tips on taking care of your white clothing pieces.
1- Simple division
When laundry time comes to play, sort whites and wash them separately to prevent color transfer. The best way to sort your laundry is with 3 piles: whites, darks, and lights; and voila, your whites remain white.
2- Pre-treat stains asap
Spilled some iced coffee on your new white blouse? Treat that stain immediately! Never let stains sit for longer than 24 hours and never wash before treating; that is key.
3- Skip the dryer
Did you know that high heat can turn whites yellow and set stains you didn’t know were there? Definitely not a good look for your white clothing items, so it’s best to skip the dryer and air dry them flat instead.
4- Layering saves the day
Sweat marks are not cute. When possible, layer your white outfit with a cami or tank underneath to keep your whites good as new.
5- Keep a bleach pen on hand
A good tip to have in mind is keeping a bleach pen or stain remover in your purse. Either one can save the day before stains become permanent.
